On Vang Comp's site they sell an 1187P mag with VCS but no porting. Does this mean the 1187P cannot be ported in order to ensure function? Your feedback is appreciated. |
Some people don't like or want the porting. I use low recoil Win Ranger in my Rem 870 that I had Vang backbore and lengthen the forcing cone on. The porting just didn't seem necessary due to the added cost and powder burning flash being shot right in to your sight plane on top of the barrel. I also think that porting may not be available on the semi-auto 1187 because it will mess with the operation of its action. The gas pressure will drop off as soon as the wad hits the ports, which can cause malfunction. |
