What is the situation with the 870 Wingmaster. I got a pretty good deal on one and was wondering if it was closer to the express or Police. Also, I was wondering if they had the infimous Dimples. Any help would be appreciated! Riese ETA: I want to turn it into a Defensive Shotgun. Maybe Vang Comp it. |

The Wingmaster is the "Cadillac" top-of-the-line sporting model 870. The Express is the bottom-of-the-line Chevy. The Police gun is really a dull finished and more inspected Wingmaster. The last new Wingmaster I saw still had the old style No-dimples magazine assembly. The Wingmaster is as good as it gets in sporting model pump guns. |

I love the old used Wingmasters. I picked one up a while back, an old police style with a 20in. cyl. bore barrel and wood stock set(with the forend that doesn't overlap the receiver). Paid $158 OTD. I just bought a decent Wingmaster with a 28in barrel for $115 OTD. I bought a Speedfeed stock for it ($60) and have an Express 20 in. rifle sight barrel coming for $90. $265 for a great tacti-cool setup is not bad! The old Wingmasters have metal trigger guards, in contrast to the Express' plastic trigger guard. The Wingmasters also don't have the dimples. |
For my 800th post im going to ask to NOT "pimp" it out, those guns are Very nice we own many and they will not let you down... just get yourself a Police model, or express to change, you should go try some trap now that you have a nice wingmaster... |
