18.5" remington 870 with Cavalry Arms SST-870, Ergo grip as well as falcon/ergo pump rail and foreward grip.  The dot site is OKO.

I must say that OKO was like cheating.. a HUD lol.. it made is soo easy to frame the target and make shot placement.

Works great on those easy spring machines. Now lets go to a real trap or skeet range and see how that sight works. MIKE.

I wish I could be there. I already saw some on this sight try skeet with their tac guns. After they could not hit shit they switched to sporting guns and crushed the birds. MIKE.

the ammount of lead per station will be my only worry.. but im hoping its easier to put a glowing red dot, that is more in my line of sight than a bead on the barrel, in the proper place.

I always thought the  dot and shooting both eyes open  made it easier to hit the birds MGM pigeon flippers toss up in the air.

Last year at Ironman we had a stage where we had to hit the launcher button for the trap house and shoot at the same time...those things are fast, I hit 15/25.  I didn't think was bad since I had to kneel behind the table the launcher button was on, used my verticle grip as a monopod to pivot to the clays as they launched with only my strong hand on the gun.

The dot is not a problem to hit clays on the move, in fact I think it makes it easier.  The problem is with a cylinder bore barrel, once they'rre past 25 yards, they're out of your effective range.

Red dot sight systems have been tried on shotguns for many years starting with the old Weaver Quick Point 30 years ago. On slow targets you have time to look at the dot, look at the bird, adjust your lead and fire. On fast targets like in International Skeet, 50+ miles an hour, the bird will get past you before you can fire. Your eye should be on the bird, not the sight. Most who shoot clay games find even tru glow style beads are a distraction on a shotgun not a help. Just look at the guns used by people who run hundreds of birds at a time and you will not see dot systems. But in any case have fun. MIKE.

I agree with Mike, I shoot a ton of sporting clays (around 15,000 rounds a year) and I hate even seeing the bead on my shotguns. Look at the bird not the bead.
