Does anyone have one of these?  I just got it to put my Surefire G2 on the shotgun for a cheaper alternative than the forend (for now).  If so, what can you tell me about them?

One of the guys at work has one and it seems to work fine for him.  The thing that you have to be careful of is that the mount takes up some of your thread space and reduces the number of threads holding the magazine extension in place.  If you rack your shotgun forcefully, like you're supposed to, you can strip those threads and that is a relatively expensive repair job because it requires the replacement of your magazine tube on the shotgun.
Wilson Combat used to mount their sling mounts in the same manner but after numerous complaints due to stripped threads, they finally changed their mounting so the sling mount is now attached driectly to the magazine extension and not a spacer between the magazine tube and the magazine extension.
If you shoot a lot, I would not recommend that mount.

hmm interesting point.  I gave it a good wiggle and it seems firm, I also made sure the extension is tightened securely.  I'll go back and look at that again.  It was $12 so if I ditch it no huge loss.  So far it seems good.  I can always take the light off when I go to the range.
I'd appreciate any other feedback others may be able to offer on that too.

Thanks for your help

I have one on one of my 870s...

I much prefer the dedicated Surefire forend (I have those on two of my 870s - his & hers), but the M3 or another light utilizing the Streamlight mount can be a decent less-expensive alternative IMO.  I haven't experienced the problems described above, but this shotgun doesn't see nearly as much use as my Surefire-equipped ones.

thanks HardShell for the pics and for adding to the above mentioned concern for the mag tube.  I'm happy to see someone with it in use having success.
