| Can the benelli M1014 shotguns(civilian models) hold a round on the carrier along with a full magazine and one in the chamber? |

Eagles, Thank-you! Was at 0200 this am, that I read your missive. What a great bit of info! Was not even aware that this was possible! Spent next 3.5 hours changing out go pack, bandoleers, and thought processes... Outstanding. "News you can use..." Truly a sweet bit of info... Again, THANKS! Regards and Respects, Carter F. Leffen, oldpaladin, out... P.S., talked to Benelli in MD today, and they just got an invoice for the two shot magazine extensions... Latest arrival date is April, but may be sooner... Shucks, I've been waiting since October/November 2002... Oh,well. After reading your post, I'm one very much happier camper... 6, instead of five! Next, it'll be 8 instead of 7! Now that's worth looking forward to! Take care, Eagles, be well, be safe, happy, and be prepared to protect your peace... CFL |

scottyran, M4Madness, Eagles, Talked to Benelli in MD this afternoon, and mentioned the extra round on the carrier that Eagles pointed out. There was a pause on the line when I asked what else would help... Well, a little while later, the nice young lady asked me if I'd taken out the plug. Plug? DOH! Nope, hadn't even thought of a plug... When I very happily signed-off, I grabbed a narrow screwdriver, and after taking off the faux extension, pried out the magazine spring seal ring. Be careful, as the plug IS under pressure... No problem... Make sure the spring doesn't bind, re-attach the faux mag extension, and voila, you've now got a 5+1+1 shotgun! Well, that is with 2.75" shells, otherwise, it's 4+1+1 for 3" shells. When the two shot mag extensions, the real ones, get here, we'll have 7+1+1! Yee-Haw!!! Now, lets get a Benelli flag made up with crossed M1014's and TANSTAAFL proudly proclaimed... Nine, that's a Very nice number, isn't it? :o) |

Thanks oldpaladin! I removed the plug from the M1014 and replaced the seal ring before replacing the faux extension. Now five shells will load in the magazine! Once I got it apart, I thought about using the extension as the spring stop but decided to replace the ring instead. With the ring in place the spring has the same tension. I expect the 2 shot extension will have a longer magazine spring. Are you using the extension as the spring stop and still get 5 rounds in the magazine? The extra length is almost the same as another shell and looks close to making it hold 6. Thanks for the information. I had wondered why the other 18.5" bbl Benellis hold 7 in a full length tube and the M1014 would only have held 6 with the 2-shot extension. More good news to know the extensions may be arriving shortly. |

Eagles and George, I'm using the faux magazine extension as the spring stop, and getting room for five 2.75" rounds... Equals a seven shot when fully loaded... Eagles, you're a genius. No doubt! George, I'm not interested in limits for hunting, nor am I interested in legal fictions suitable for small minded civil serpents... When out and about, I can carry the beauties with four plus one, and be happy knowing that I can top them off quickly enough for business- if necessary... I've been shot at before, so I want to know exactly how many rounds I can load-up... My mags for my match grade Armalite hold only 25 out of 30 possible... I probably don't need that many, as I regularly roll tennis balls at 225 to 250 yards, using a peep sight, or a Meprolight 21 Reflex sight... Accuracy has no substitute you can bank on... Back to my M1014/M4S90's... I knew an old gunners mate chief, who said something I've always taken to hear... Ammo is such that if you need it, and you've got it, that's good. If you need it, and you don't have it, that's bad. Outside of water, nothing's more important than ammo... He was right, lo, those many years ago... Still right, come to think of it... When at the range, I regularly have 200 rounds with me- which I can wear, or carry... Slugs, 000 or 00 Buckshot, a handfull of sabots, and flares... Guess what I'm trying to say is this: Don't sweat the small stuff... I load, shoot, and practice like I would for combat. Whatever blood spent in practice won't/mightn't be shed in combat... Know your weapon, know yourself, know your enemy... Sorry, getting "philosophical" here... Take care, be safe, be happy, and above all, be at peace... Carter, oldpaladin, out... |

M4, $67 sounds like a fair price. Cal's is $63 plus shipping, my dealer quoted "about $75". Katana, 5 in the tube +1 in the chamber must be legal, it's what a post-ban M1 Tactical holds in stock form. Haven't seen the field stocks for the M-1014 yet, but I'll have the extension on hand for when I'm able to locate one. Either that or put on the new tube extension in place of the fake one and use the stock spring and spring seal ring. Sounds plausible eh? |

I copied this from the Del-ton website. A semiautomatic shotgun that has at least 2 of - (1) a folding or telescopic stock; (2) a pistol grip that protrudes conspicuously beneath the action of the weapon; (3) a fixed magazine capacity in excess of 5 rounds; and (4) an ability to accept a detachable magazine I think that you can legally only have one of these items on your shotguns. Pretty retarded. I was so looking forward to owning a real mil-spec one. |

Answered my own question today while visiting the local Gun shop. YES! We do have it. They don't allow the stock to collapse and cut the magazine in half but by god we have it. Woo Hoo!!! Hey, I don't get many victories here in CA. [I would rather have the German Army in front of me than the French Army behind me. -General George S. Patton |
