Put 30rds thru it before church. Shot ok still figuring out the poa / poi. Had the slide lock back 4/5 times but was due to my grip. At $400 this is a no brainier of a buy if you just want a gun for the range. My example has a good trigger. Reset is a little longer than what I’m used too like with a Glock. |

My buddy and I each ordered one - we hit the range yesterday. Mine ran flawless with Blazer Brass. So didn't his. He tried some hollow point Gold Dot with a few failure to feeds. Couple failure to feeds with cheaper Igman ammo as well - but I could feel a ridge where the brass met the projectile. I also had mine oiled to high Heaven because of how tight the tolerances feel. I'm impressed. No joke, when I was paying attention - I was shooting nickel sized groups at 7 yards. Just piling the buggers. I need to push my front sight right a bit, it is sitting a bit left, and impact showed about an inch to the right - so that would make sense. Serial #'s were 40 apart - and his sight is the same way... test shooter must be a righty who is trying to compensate for leftward drift.  What a beautiful gun for the money. I love the feel, look, quality, etc. I especially love that they didn't incorporate a magazine safety. I was also really happy to see the copper dot front sight and black rear - for a target focus two eye guy like me - it was perfect!     Mine is the darker one on the right. |

Put an additional 50rds thru mine. I have noticed that mine has a fairly long trigger reset. That’s really my only complaint as of now. Any suggestions on an inexpensive kydex holster that is compatible with Safariland qls hole pattern. Attached File |

BH Springs Solutions makes some incorrect assumptions as to the origin of the Inglis L9A1, and then replaces all the springs because they think it's ejecting empty cases too far. | I have no idea why BHP Springs gets the adulation that they do. Every gun they review is dysfunctional and requires their parts and expertise to correct. In the meantime I've owned/still own multiple Hi powers from Browning, FEG, Girsan and the original Inglis, and none have had the issues they describe. |

Picked up my case hardened finished today. It's so damned pretty that even my transfer ffl lady kept wiping it down. The insides are however a bit sharp in places. Nothing that a bit of smoothing won't fix. I think it's worth the money. I don't want to jinks things because I haven't shot it yet. May need to get the nickle version as well. |

I ordered the standard L9A1 from Battlehawk this morning. I've had more than a dozen various Hi Powers. Never really cared that much for any of the Browning marked guns, I guess because they were made for the commercial market. I currently have a FN 640(b), an Inglis No 2 Mk I, an early '50s FN contract gun, a few lightweight alloy FNs, a 2003 commercial FN, and a Girsan MCP35pi. (I don't care for the Girsan) Not real sure why I "need" a L9A1, but I've had it in my shopping cart for 3 months now thinking about it on and off, so I guess it was time to commit. I'll share pics when it arrives. I sure hope it has that "trigger is too light" feature that BHP Spring Solutions complained about. |

I haven't taken any pictures yet- it looks exactly like every other black L9A1. I see what BHPSS is bitchin' about with the trigger. It's light enough that it doesn't need any work. (So they want to sell you a sear spring to make it heavier????) It really is as good as either of my worked-over Hi Power triggers. Now, if that proves to be a problem in live fire with the hammer following, I'll pull the stock sear spring and tweak it a little to apply more pressure. But I'm not going to mess with it now- the hammer breaks real nice. The barrel to slide fit is better than any of my other Hi Powers. Like, impressive for a Hi Power. Very little slide rattle too. Everything fits so nice for a $400 handgun. The bad list is very short- I don't like the grips with the thumb rest. They just don't feel good to me. I'd have preferred the flat plastic checkered from the factory. I have a spare set of Hogue wood grips, as well as an unmarked thin plastic set, but unfortunately neither of these are cut for the lanyard ring. I kind of like the lanyard ring, so I think I'll just see what other grips I can find. The thumb rest, just like the FN factory thumb rest grips, is right in the way of the magazine release. If I really wanted to be picky, again on a $400 handgun, I'd complain just a little about the thumb safety. It's typical Hi Power, not positive in regards to the frame and detent interface. But certainly no worse than any factory Browning or FN Mark III I've had. |

Went and ran a few hundred out of my case colored the other day. No hiccups at all and I have some reloaded 9mm that I stayed up trying to get ready for night shifts and loaded way to long. It ran that stuff just fine. I now own the Springer and this new case colored and neither give me hammer bite. Think I need the nickle version now. |

Just bought a p-35b online. It was just a few dollars more for the walnut grips and I had to pounce. Now the wait begins.  I also bought three 15 round mecgar mags. Anyone have a holster they particularly like? I’m not going to be daily carrying this, but would like something to have. I may go with a repro flap holster. |

ARFCOM costing me money again. I added a DAWSON skinny fiber front sight, Cylinder & slide thumb safety, and some cheap G10 grips. I have to say, I'm a 1911 snob, and I'm impressed with the build quality of this gun. I see no MIM parts, everything is nicely machined and finished. I've put about 300 rounds of handloads through it, It feeds XTP and GOLD DOT "like butter". 100% reliable. Grips feel great, but I think this classic design needs something checkered. I like the LOK grips @BPR posted above. Thumb safety feels 1000 times better, took several disassemble/reassemble/check fit to get it. Slow and careful. Really neat to see how John Moses Browning and Dieudonné Saive desinged it without stealing the 1911 patent ( which was sold to Colt)         |
