I was wrong, mine does not have the INGLIS in a diamond on the slide. Left side of slide is marked "L9A1", right side is blank. |

These are super clean and not the walking billboard that the Girsan models are. The left side of mine has no markings other than a small L9A1 on the slide. The right side has nothing other than the serial and Knoxville TN marking on the frame. The bottom of the slide front has the serial number as well. No magazine safety. No weird ramped front sights or Novak rears. If it was beat to hell and you told me it was 30 years old I would believe you. It’s a well done clone. No warnings or any of that stuff on it. It looks like if you wanted it out it could easily be drilled out and a regular grip would cover the frame hole. It’s just a press fit that goes in a hole through the frame. I removed my lanyard ring today. It was a simple press fit. No threads. It came out by “unscrewing it” but is still tight enough it would need to be pressed back in. I ordered a basic set of plastic Browning grips to cover the hole. It didn’t even leave a mark. Attached File Attached File |

So, has anyone actually confirmed for sure that these are being made by Sarsilmaz ? If so, does that mean SDS Imports is now a Sarsilmaz importer in addition to their Tisas offerings ? @SDSImports -- how about some confirmation on these points - you did start this thread after all.

OK, new issue I would like some input on, if anyone can. On my Inglis the hammer is digging into the slide where the firing pin safety is. Anyone ever see that before? I wonder if it's a huge problem, and what is out of spec. Attached File |

Took mine shooting yesterday. Ran 100% using Federal 124 FMJ. Also a small random sample of JHPs including Winchester 147, Winchester 124 PDX1 +P and Sig 124 +P. The Hi-Power seemed to cycle all that just as smoothly as the FMJ. It was really a pleasure to shoot and I enjoyed it a lot. You will need a slightly lower grip than with other pistols so you don't bump the slide strop. I may take a sharpie and black out the white markings on the rear sight. Might look around for a tritium or brass bead front sight. I guess that's a standard Mk.III Hi-Power front sight dovetail? Anyone know? Once I run some more ammo through it I might even carry it once and a while. It's a keeper so far. |
