How do you remove the firing pin and extractor from the FNP pistols?  They are bound to get very dirty and the instructions say to send it to a dealer to disassemble (yeah right).

Damn video camera can't get a clear shot...here goes on the step by step instructions:

Tools needed:

#4 allen wrench (or simular sized object)
Small hammer

Steps:

1.  Remove slide from weapon
2.  Depress fireing pin safety
3.  Using allen wrench, depress fireing pin about 1/2"
4.  Using a prying motion pull the allen wrench down to pop the firing pin retaining plate loose
5.  Now hook the firing pin retaining plate with the allen wrench, and using the hammer tap it down and out
6.  Remove fireing pin retaining plate
7.  Remove firing pin
8.  Remove firing pin spring

Assembly reverse of dissasembly.

Thanks, but I am lost.  Are you taking it apart like a 1911 but with more force?  I cant get the firing pin retaining plate to move once I push in the firing pin.

Yes...just like a 1911, however if you look you can see there are two "retaining grooves" in the retaining plate.  These cause the plate to lock in place, so you have to use quite a bit of force to get it unlocked.
