I bought a Pro-9 some time ago. You don't see many of them around. I know/think they were imported and are identical to the FNP-9? I don't' think they are still sold as the browning model?

Anyway, I love that pistol, fist choice out of safe for me. Shoots well and feels good.

Was this purchase a mistake? Since then have added a SIG and S$W but still like the pro-9 best. I guess it wasn't a mistake if I like it, just makes me uneasy when my favorite is "discontinued"

Always wanted to post this question but was afraid I get toasted, until I found this forum (I think)

I'm curious about this too as I am pretty interested in finding an FNP.  Almost everything I have heard about them has been positive, but I'd still like more information.  The only complaints that I can find seem to be that a small number of them eject the cases straight back at the shooter.

Assuming they are the same gun.........which I think they are.

I have close to 1k rounds through this thing and have only one or teo hams, nothing serious.

The Browning Pro 9 and Pro 40 are the exact same as the FNP series.  They have been out of production for a couple of years now.

I have a Browning Pro 40 and talking to an Bob at FN he told me that there were only about 2000 of those made.  I didn't get the details on if that is 2000 total Browning pro's, or just the .40.  Either way, doesn't seem like a real high number.

So, at least parts for the PRO series should be able to be obtained from FN. That's good.

Yes, the Browning version was discontinued in the USA. Only the FNP version is available.

I believe the Browning version always allowed cocked and locked, while the FNP was only decock until they released the USG version.

Come check out www.fnforum.net for more info
