I was also told a couple years ago that we would not see an FNP with a manual safety and de-cocker which the Browning versions at the time had. My point being, is sometimes plans change. At least we hope. |
The only place I know of is Impact guns They have the 14/15rnders. I can't find the 16rnd mags anywhere. |

I've got both an FNP-45 and a Glock 21SF. I have medium-size hands. I use the flat backstrap on the FNP. Surprisingly, even though the FNP holds one more round than the Glock, the FNP grip's circumference is actually smaller than the Glock 21SF and fits my hand better! Comparing the FNP-45 to the Glock 21SF: both are easy to control, the trigger (both DA and SA) is easy to reach on the FNP as well as on the Glock, the FNP is safer for a newbie because of the DA/SA trigger, the FNP field strips like a SIG (much easier than the Glock and you don't have to dry fire it). The FNP is WAY more accurate than the Glock, IME. Machining on Glock slides is very good; machining on FNP slides is impeccable. FNP magazines are steel, Glock mags are normal Glock. The FNP has a more "normal" grip angle, but of course that's subjective. And the FNP has a double-strike capability. The FNP has replaced a Glock as my nightstand gun. But I guarantee you my Glock 21SF is doing home security duty as well. It's hard to pass up 15 rounds of .45 ACP whoop-ass, with 28 more close by. With a Surefire X300 weapon light mounted, this thing is about perfect. But I don't think I could carry it concealed except in heavy winter clothes (not much call for that in Phoenix). But I've got a 1911, SIG P220, SIG P226, SIG P229, SIG P239 and a Kahr PM-9 for that. And an FNH SLP Mark 1 12-gauge for serious crowd-clearing. Now all I need is an FNH SCAR Heavy. |

I find my FNP 45 easier to shoot than my much smaller FNP 40. It has become my favorite handgun, by a wide margin. Accurate, pleasant shooting, easy to handle and take down, and as reliable as the seasons. The FNP 45 is the weapon that will put FNH USA on the map in the US civilian market. |
I handled a FNP 45 for the first time yesterday and it fit my hand well. It had a thinner back strap than the one in your picture. I've got small hands so most double stack 45s feel like I'm holding on to a 2x4. |
Very nice congrats! |

So i would have to send the wepon back to the mfg. to have this option installed??? I assume this is a option that they are going to charge for also?? Next question, Has anyone else had this done?? Becuase looking at how the decocker is now. I wonder if when your carring it the cocked and locked postion. And then you go to take the safety OFF, that you would decock the weapon. Or is there a bump that you get to that you have to push over to get that to move into the decock motion.??? Thanks for the help. |

The decocker is similar to the HK desisn. I don't think you can have yours converted, you would have to buy a USG if you want that option. *** As a side note, it is my understanding that sometime in the near future, all FNP series guns will come with a manual safety/decocker *** But give Bob A. a call at FNH, and see what he says. |

fella's I don't know why you couldn't convert a 45 to the "hammer drop/cocked and locked". the fire control group,(hammer, sear, hammer release, safety) comes out of the gun as one unit. go to this site and you'll see what i mean. this is a 40 cal but the 45 comes apart the same way. I've had mine apart. http://fnforum.net/viewtopic.php?t=10161 the real question is, will fn do it and for how much. |

So I'm looking to buy one of these beauties but here is the question, which model can be cocked and locked and which is decocker only? USG models and newer production models have the decocker/safety. All of the older production models will be decoker only. **They just started (6 months ago) making all the newer FNPs with decocker/safety. FYI |

Do all the new ones come with front cocking serrations now? It actually makes the gun look even better. Only the USG models have the front serrations. And as far as I know only the USG models have the Safety/Decocker trigger group. Correct. The USG models come with the front slide serrations, manual safety/decocker fire control group, two 14 round magazines, and one 15 round magazine. As of now they come in all black or with the matte stainless slide. The FDE models should be out sometime in the near future if they are not showing up yet. |

Hypathetically, then if the internals remove as a group, it would be cool if they could test a limited production w/ a selector, since the slide is so beefy, I wonder how that would take..like the g18 or berreta 93... I like the way you think.... PLUS, there is potential for 30+ round magazines, if they go this route........... Mac10 FNP45 FTW |
