Been looking at these for about 6 months
I have had nothing but 1911s in .45 up to this point , I currently own Glocks and an XDm Do not really care for Glock 21 that a buddy let me shoot Pretty much looking at FNX 45 and M&P 45 One thing I like about FNX is double / single action Spare mags seem pretty equally priced and available What am I missing , I am posting this in the "FN" section first , but I have not made up my mind yet |

I have one, it is a good gun. The double action gets better after shooting, still can carry cocked and locked, 15 rounds of 45 is a plus. It is a big pig though, BIG. Fits well in my hands, but too large to really carry. I like the Sig P220 better, it is double for first round, single after that, only holds 8 rounds, a lot safer to carry than a single action 1911, but I have to say the 1911 is still my favorite handgun. Anyway 1 cent worth. Just my thought on it. Holster is not easy to find. I did get two mags prior to the rush, but they were backordered (initially ordered 4, only got 2), that being said it comes with 3, so I think 5x15 is good for now.

I just recently got a used FNX45. I also have 1911s and glocks. I am very happy with the FNX. I like the weight and feel of it. I like the face that you can carry it just like a 1911. I am going to try this gun with some of practical/tactical matches at my local range. The main reason that I went with this gun: similar to my 1911s, mag capacity and I got it for a good price.
It is a big gun. Finding a holster is difficult. Blade tech is about the only maker that you will find in stock. I bought my holster for everyday carry from midway usa. It is one by blade tech. I conceal carried it yesterday without any difficulties. So it is doable for sure. I plan on shooting it like crazy the next few weeks, so we shall see how it goes. Chris |

I CCW the FNP45 tactical every day for the last two years or so, right after I saw it at SHOT. It is big, but I carry it well under an untucked shirt. I like having 15+1 rounds of .45 on tap. http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u478/rtech_inno/IMG_0964-1_zps99f479c5.jpg I really like your holster and gear , is this factory stuff or custom made ? I visited another store today and held a FNX45 ( basic duty model ) I really like this pistol , trying to keep an open mind - but I really like the feel of it even though its kinda on the large side . |

I make holsters. This week I'm getting a vendor account to advertise here on arfcom. I do lots of custom work and focus on non-traditional stuff. PM me.

I bought an FNX45 and an HK45 about 8 months ago. I hate to compare the two because there are so many things to discuss, pros and cons for both. If someone said I could only have one, I would keep the FNX. Here's one guy's opinion:
Pros - Accuracy is excellent. I need to shoot it more but is every bit as accurate as my Kimber or Colt 1911 - SA/DA trigger is nice. It seems to me that it is actually a three stage trigger when carried cocked and locked. That is not a bad thing. I like it. Stage one lets you know the safety is disengaged, Two is the longer pull and three is a nice let-off. Nothing like a single action trigger but hey, it is a tactical weapon, not a target gun. - Ambi. controls. - Decocking lever on the thumb safety - 15+1 magazines x 3 are you kidding me? What's not to like about that? - Grip inserts to fit different hand sizes - 3 dot sights. Eh, ok I guess but I am looking for a Sig style rear sight. - Recoil is very manageable. I think the Glock 21 is better but not by much. Cons - Size. Average size hands or larger will have no issues manipulating the controls or holding the pistol. - Conceal-ability is tricky but doable Overall, I don't think you can go wrong with the purchase. I like my FNX45 so much I bought a FNX40 about three weeks ago. But that's another story for another day. Good luck with your decision making. |

Have a 1911 and G21sf and and FNX45, I love the FNX, the DA took me some time to get used to, but its good to go. Like all FN products magazines and holsters require some effort to find, but it is not impossible. 15 rounds of 45 is pretty nice and the damn thing is suprisingly accurate! I get groups I could never get with any other gun I have - Save the Kimber.
I would suggest renting one, a few times. It is a big ugly fisher price looking thing but is a great shooter, looking for a light and holster for mine, now that it is winter I will be CCWing it. |

Just not what I was hoping for so I sold it , should have gotten the FNX45 So you didn't listen to post after post after post telling you how great the FN was/is? ![]() Yes call me a dumbass , I got a good deal on MP 45 , nothing against mp lovers but I did not like it |
| I have an FNX45 Tactical with a Trijicon RMR on it. It is a lot of gun, but the recoil is soft and it just shoots great. I have had Glock 21's, XD/XDM 45's and have shot the MP45's. FNX is my favored pistol out of all of them. Extra magazines can be a little hard to come by, but Highplainsgunshop.com can hook you up usually. The only reason I an not carrying the gun at work is because with all the stuff I have on it it is worth too much. Agency will only reimburse up to $1,000. |
