Quoted: same as tactical except barrel, color and trigger? You can get the Tactical in blacktical now. No raised night sights in this one. You do get a light-gathering front sight though. The tac model also comes with more backstraps than the 2 included with regular and USG. I would imagine that this may have the backstrap selection of the tac but see no evidence otherwise. |

Don't like it. I have the 45 Tac and use mine for 3 gun matches. When I am not using it for competition I use it suppressed. I like the fact that the open sights co-witness with the RMR optic that I have mounted. If you mount an optic on that competition model the sights "will not" co-witness, so even if you have no interest is suppressing it you have to use either a red-dot or open sights, but not both. Think I would prefer tritium over a fiber optic bar I agree. My Para Ordnance Carry 45 has the fiber optic and although it shoots great I really do not care for the fiber optic front sight. It is rough and has the ability to snag. I'm probably going to replace it soon enough. Besides, on the FNP Tactical, night sights are much more usable than fiber. Just my opinion |

I have a red fiber optic front sight, and a plain black rear sight on my CZ-97B. I can pick that fiber optic front sight up amazingly fast, faster than I can pick up and align the dots on the Trijicon night sights on my XD-40. The fiber is also a lot brighter than I thought it would be, like a big red beacon. I don't have any problems with snagging. I like FNP-45s, I'm just not sure I can justify another .45 at this time. |

I shoot Dawson fiberoptics on my competition pistol and no fiber breakage after many thousands of rounds.
9MM though and I replace the fiber when it gets dim due to powder buildup. This is usually every 3-5K. Also have multiple sets of TFO's and none have wet the bed on me including 45 caliber. The shotgun recoil may be what is breaking your fiber or solvent may be making it brittle from cleaning but I am just talking off the top of my head. It would be nice if the fiber could be user replaced. Something like my Dawson's with an extra stick included. You can trim off a piece and install in just a couple of minutes. |
