Went to pick up my suppressor today, the owner showed me a brochure for this SP22.

It looks pretty neat.

Anyone want to buy a lightly used buck mark? lol

Odd looking, but so far owners are reporting good reviews.

The M3 version might make it's way to my house, if reviews are favorable once they arrive here in the States.

I thought it was neat that the barrels are factory threaded, and you just throw an adapter on there for a suppressor.

I'm surprised I haven't seen discussion about this on the forum yet.  Or did I just miss them, and they're really old.

Does anyone know if the thread adapter for the P22 works for the SP22?

It does, according to a thread on RFC. Look in the Walther section, for the thread about the SP22. There are even some photos of the adapter in a post from the manufacturer (also a member here)

OOh, neat.  I missed this one somehow.

I just moved to a silencer friendly state - any info on how easy/hard this would be as a platform?

Well, if it works the same as the P22, it is very easy.  The end of the barrel is sort of nut, and you unscrew it and screw on the thread adapter.  Voila, instant threaded barrel for your can.  Also inexpensive.

Compare that to sending your Ruger off to be threaded or buying a Pac Lite upper...

I must warn you, the 22 can is a gateway drug -- pretty soon you'll want to get a can for every major caliber you own, then you'll want to legally shorten some barrels, and then next thing you know you are contemplating getting a loan so you can buy a machine gun.

Not only that, you'll begin to resent your fellow shooters with their loud and obnoxious unsilenced guns -- the civilized gentleman keeps his report down.

It's a slippery slope, stop yourself before it's too late....
