| I am very intrested in buying a .22 pistol. I like Sig guns but I really love the look of the Sig mosquito. How good is it? I have heard of them having problems shooting only one type of ammo to poor triger to jamming a lot. Any help would be greatful. Thanks http://img139.imageshack.us/img139/1264/sigmosquito22lr2tonenh3.jpg |

I have heard alot of 2nd hand stuff, but dont know of anyone with one. I have a wather P22 and alot of people have problems with them too, but the one i got is fine. It does jam sometimes, but i dont have a pistol that hasnt with the exception of my CZs. to filter out the BS, do a post with "first hand" experience and you will be surprised on how much BS is missing. Personally i have one on my list, but i tend to wait until the hype is over and the prices settle. Ive got burned by getting the first ones out. One thing you should know about 22s. In general they can be picky about what they are fed especially autoloaders. If you do get one or any 22, its best to get as many different types/brands of 22 ammo and try all of them. i think you will find that every gun is different in its likes. This can also apply to CFs too. |
| I have an OD one I bought used. Yes the first trigger pull (double action), sucks. Really heavy, and it's not as accurate as say a Mk III. The guy I bought it from had to send it to Sig to have it fixed cause it was a jammin POS brand new, took about 6 months to get it back. Also it only comes with one clip which is stupid. I like it and hopefully they got the bugs worked out of the new one's. |

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- When putting the Mosquito .22 back together, be sure to put the spring with the NARROW SIDE on first onto the guide rod. By putting the wider side on, the gun will NOT eject properly. This is NOT in the manual, nor even on the SIG site. But it has caused many, MANY owners of MOSQUITOES to have problems... Hope this helps...... Michael |
i have one manufactured on 8/06 never have any problem. i did have FTE twice after 408 Rounds. which i think is normal for a 22. but from round one to 400 never had any issue. i ran a bore snake through and it shot fine. also mine came with one mag. i did not know that they come with one clip |

Mine has been pretty much perfect with mini mags and gb's. Other types of ammo are hit or miss. I really like it cause of how it points and feels in my hand. Overall I really like it. Oh, I almost forgot, I havent cleaned or lubed it in about 1200 rounds, and it is running like a champ! David |
| I own a p22 and spent a couple of hours at a range with a mosquito. Despite how nice I thought the trigger was on the skeeter, I wouldn't have bought it over my p22. Can't give an exact reason why. Although those duotone models with the silver frame/black are very attractive looking firearms. If you like sigs though, you'll probably like a skeeter. |
