I recently purchased one of these to get my fiance interested in shooting. We searched and searched for a gun she felt comfortable with
and we had originally settled on a browning 1911 A1-22 as she liked the 1911's grip angle and feel in her hand. Well I was going to purchase
the Browning but after reading more about it (Polymer frame, Polymer sights and fairly new) I decided to look at other choices and came across
the GSG 922 at CDN for 239 shipped so I went ahead and purchased it thinking that even after buying new "slim" grips, bushings and screws I will
still be into it for 200$ less than the browning. So my question to you guys and gals is how reliable is this gun and do you think I screwed up by purchasing
this over the Browning?

The Browning web site shows both polymer and aluminum frames.

I don't know if you screwed up, but the Browning is a great little pistol.

Most reports on the GSG are positive.  A lot of people report the finish chips easily exposing bright metal under the dark finish.  The Browning is a sweet gun for sure, but I think the GSG will do well for you.
