I am interested in a (future) suppressor host and general purpose Buckmark that can be used for new shooter training (w/ iron sights), plinking, steel challenge and other rimfire gun games. I don't want a dedicated race gun.

I want iron sights and a red dot. I know 6 moa or 8 moa dot cmore railway on a bearcave 90 degree mount is the new hotness for open class race guns but it is too specialized and I lose any iron sights.

I am planning on a 8 moa dot Burris Fastfire III on a Tacsol rail w/ rear iron sight with a fiber optic front sight post. I hope this will allow me to shoot open and iron divisions since the red dot would be removeable.

Tacsol barrel and compensator will be the next upgrade after i get the sights sorted out.

What do you guys thinks?

Check this thread out. Here It should answer some of your questions.
I'm still trying to decide on the barrel myself as well.

I have *numerous* Buckmarks.  It have Tasco tube sights on two of them and a C-more on another.  Took the iron sights off and replaced with a Weigand rail on all three.  They shoot great with the red dots.

Allow me to suggest the Buckmark Whisper model. Factory threaded bbl so there's no need for spending more $$$ for one.

I have one but this is a Gun Broker pic:

These pop up on Gun Broker from time to time. I just love mine!

Here's my setup... pretty much exactly what you listed. I love it.

3 MOA on the Burris

It shoots so nice that I often leave the other guns at home.

I could not justify the $550+ price tag of an RMR for a .22 pistol.

i understand the reasons. it never ever needs batteries, triangle 12.9 moa dot, crisp clean sex in a rail.
and there is buy once cry once.
im still having a hard time with double the price too.

That should do it.  I run my Buckmark stock with front FO sight for Steel and it works very well.  Great general purpose gun that is easily customizable.  Have fun.
