| I have an old 22LR revolver that was passed down through my family, from what i can tell its a sportsman model 99 snub nose variety with the one piece grip. how do i go about researching information such as when it was built/how old. basically i want to be able to figure out what i have here besides the obvious. |

From the Blue Book:
Harrington & Richadson, Inc. A "New Defender" model that was a 2" bbl break open that's a dbl action & looks a lot more like your gun, I'm thinking this is it. 100% = 400 90% = $225 60% = $140 No dates of mfg given, sorry. Sorry I wasn't more help.

it it alot of fun to shoot. im only having one problem, the sights are completely off and completely frozen!! it averages about 4-5in high and 2-3in to the left of POA at 25ft. im at a loss. i tried wd40 then losening the screws but all it does is bend the metal on the screw heads..... I really want to turn it into a halfway descent gun accuracy wise, but in stuck

If you really want to alleviate the problem you could always ghett-rig a cheap red dot and bypass the sights altogether. |

I looked at the Blue Book again & I think you have a gun that the bbl has been chopped down & the front sight re-attached, IMO. Obviously this doesn't explain your rear sight issue but it helps explain why you're off so much on accuracy, IMO. |
