Wilson 47D's are what I use. Tripp maggs are supposed to be good as well, but I haven't used them. I had trouble with chip mccormick 8rd mags, but most generic 7rd mags worked great.

My preferred "loadout" for a 1911 is 3 8rd Metalforms and 3 CMC Power 10s.  That's what I get for each of my "serious use" 1911s.  I should probably up the number of Metalforms.

Wilson 47Ds are good, as are pretty much anything by CMC.  KimProTacMags or whatever they're called have given me nothing but trouble.

Colt mags are pretty good, but take them apart and make sure the springs are inserted properly.  I've had a problem with Colt mags coming from the factory with the springs in backwards and/or upside down.

I have tried many different magazines and Checkmates with the hybrid feed lips are the smoothest in my tactical.  I have mostly 8 round extended mags pictured at the bottom of the link and a few GI 7 rounders.  Both types have been flawless for me.   I prefer stainless for some reason.   David

I just bought an RIA 1911A1 MS on Saturday and it came with an Act-Mag magazine, it functioned well. My dad's S&W 1911 came with Novak's magazines, and they are made by Act-Mag, they function great too.

i have tried factory kimber mags so far and they work well but the kimber mags caused issues with the slide stop on the last round fired so i am back to act mags for now. ( do extended slide stops extend further into the breach? )

I like Chip Mcormick 10 rounders.  My buddy's RIA came with a NOVAK mag!

I've had luck with all of the reputable mags in mine.  Even worked fine with the novak it came with.  Surprisingly reliable firearm!  $375 well spent!

The original blued ACT-Mag that came with the gun did not lock back on the last round when I used it once.  I sold it on Backpage.com a week later.

I did research and decided to go with Wilson Combat 47D magazines that I got from Cabela's in a deal that was 2 for $50.  I bought a total of 4 magazines with shipping to AZ for $118.

The Wilson Combat 47Ds have been flawless through 300+ rounds including 20 HD JHP.
