| Looking to get the Rock Island 1911 .45 ACP Tactical. What is a good aftermarket Magazine. thank u |

My preferred "loadout" for a 1911 is 3 8rd Metalforms and 3 CMC Power 10s. That's what I get for each of my "serious use" 1911s. I should probably up the number of Metalforms.
Wilson 47Ds are good, as are pretty much anything by CMC. KimProTacMags or whatever they're called have given me nothing but trouble. Colt mags are pretty good, but take them apart and make sure the springs are inserted properly. I've had a problem with Colt mags coming from the factory with the springs in backwards and/or upside down. |

I have tried many different magazines and Checkmates with the hybrid feed lips are the smoothest in my tactical. I have mostly 8 round extended mags pictured at the bottom of the link and a few GI 7 rounders. Both types have been flawless for me. I prefer stainless for some reason. David

The original blued ACT-Mag that came with the gun did not lock back on the last round when I used it once. I sold it on Backpage.com a week later.
I did research and decided to go with Wilson Combat 47D magazines that I got from Cabela's in a deal that was 2 for $50. I bought a total of 4 magazines with shipping to AZ for $118. The Wilson Combat 47Ds have been flawless through 300+ rounds including 20 HD JHP. -Tim |
