What can I do about this? As I understand they are not Novak cut, just standard Springer three dot that is the same as the GI sights..

The sight isn't very loose but I imagine it can only get worse? It has a tiny bit of play front to back. I just don't want to loose it while I'm shooting or hiking through the woods.
What are my options?

Assuming its an un-modified factory front sight, its staked in place, and the "cut" is not Novak, or Bomar or anything else.  Its just a hole.  Its not uncommon to have them come loose.  You've got two choices––have a local smith with the proper tool restake it, or send the slide back to SA and they'll probably do it for free including postage.  If it goes back to SA, it'll be gone three weeks or so.  Unless you have the proper tool and experience, its probably not something you want to do yourself.

Another option would be to pick out a set of Novak sights and have the slide milled.

+1.  Also rod727 has a good point too.  Springfield's Custom Shop will cut and install night sights for $180, I think Novak's shop does it for a little cheaper.
