For my 45th Birthday I decided there was no present more appropriate for myself than a .45
I decided to add a 1911 to my gun collection. I was doing tons of research on what new 1911 I should buy. I didn't have a ton of cash so I started researching Springfields, SMith & Wessons, Sigs, etc. I had decided to buy a Springfield and was telling my buddy about it when he suggested I buy his Colt MKIV 70 Series Government Model in Satin NIckel. I had always pictured my 1911 would be a "new" one. But when he offered me what I thought was a very fair proce, I decided to purchase his instead. Even though mine was made in 1979 and it's 31 years old instead of new, I figured why not get the original instead of what everyone is trying copy. Here are some pics.

Nice pistol, a couple modifications can get you that "new" 1911 feel, especially if your definition of new is features. If "new" to you just means not used, you did good buying what you did.
If it was mine I'd get the slide cut for Novak sights and have some night sights installed, then a flat MSH, an adjustable trigger, some VZ grips, and maybe a new ignition system. Enjoy your new toy.
