Any good smith can turn a Caspian Recon frame into a work of art.
The Springfield MC Operator, TRP Rail are very good. Custom shop models if you have the budget are great looking units.
The Colt Rail gun is a steal for an upgrade platform.
STI is hard to be at that price.
Brown, Baer, Wilson, NH Custom all have extremely attractive ones.

If you know you're going to be running an X300, and want flexibility the Dawson Light rail is worth a look - any nonrailed frame can be modified with one, allowing it to be used in some compact IWB holsters, and toss the flashlight on as needed.

Brownells makes a rail that is around 50 bucks, they make steel and aluminum.  I installed one on a Taurus and it came out pretty nice.  This Taurus was made before they started making them with rails.
