The work was done by Bob Miller at Miller Custom. I purchased this gun about a year and a half ago from a gentleman who had already had work done to it by John Harrison. Here is what it looked like when I bought it:

The gun was already fitted with a Kart 9mm barrel, EGW bushing, greider trigger, YoBo sights and an S&A magwell. Bob fitted and installed a new Berryhill hammer and ignition parts as well as a new flat beavertail safety, videcki style trigger, STI ambi safety, pachmayr grips, a new Kart bushing and then manganeese phosphated the pistol. I havent had a chance to shoot it yet as I just picked it up from the FFL this morning but I will get back with a range report once I get to the range.

This is the 2nd pistol that Bob has done for me and I am more than pleased with his service and craftsmanship. Enjoy!

I thought this was the MEU(SOC) 9mm...

Just kidding!

Excellent looking pistol, and I bet it shoots like a dream in 9mm, make sure to give us a full range report when you get the chance!  Interesting that on top of all that, it looks like it's built on a .38 Super slide?

Looks great.  I've seen lots of variations of MEU(SOC) clones, but I don't think I've ever seen one in 9mm.

Thanks! 9mm wasnt my first choice but the price of the gun with the upgraded parts and custom work that had already been done were literally too good to pass up.

Bob does some great work. I'm waiting on one to come back from him that's been in his hands an awefully long, long time.

How long did it take to get yours done?

All told about a year and a half but Bob accepted the work which wasnt exactly a full up custom build on the condition that it would be completed as time allowed. The work that he did to the pistol and the amount of money that it cost me is almost pitiful. Once the pistol was torn down and the new parts installed, Bob did alot of work that never made it to the invoice. I didnt have enough time to make it to the range today and I wont this weekend either but will at some point next week. Ill get back with a range report then.

Actually, I didn't really even notice that, I was making a joke on the M9 being the 9mm pistols used by the Marines, "SOC" or not!

I was able to make it to the range after work tonight: 50 rounds off of the bench with an unsupported barrel/frame using 115 Federal FMJ commonly found at wal-mart. 47 rounds hit the papper with minute-of-torso accuracy. I lost 3 rounds to "push-back" when the round nose-dived into the groove in the ramped barrel while dropping the slide on a new mag (using tripp mags by the way). 3 out of the 4 mags I own all had the same issue so I figure that the barrel is the issue. Even though the gun didnt go to bob for a reliability tune nor did I ask him to do anything to the barrel, he insisted that I send the barrel and mags back to him so that he can find the issue. Other than that, shes an absolute sweetheart.

Anybody got a good reccomendation for "match grade" 9mm ammo? Id really like to see how I could do with her using match ammo @ 50 yards and beyond.
