I am looking at a Commander that's blued with a serial # FL08xxx

Been trying to figure out the approximate age and value.  Sorry I have no pic's.

New Blue Book didn't help much.

I thought they only did the $75-100 look up thing.  Thanks I will call them tomorrow.

I'm not sure when colt used an FL prefix-I've only ever seen CLW as a prefix on commanders (if not just a numeric beginning)

Here is the number to colt though if you want to try calling

1-800-962-COLT(2658)

maybe yours was part of a limited run. Its not on proofhouse.com

Thanks, I tried the proofhouse before I posted.  I should have mentioned that.

I think CLW is Commander-Light-Weight, so that would only apply to the alloy frames.

I've got one with the FL prefix.  Not sure when it was made, my guess is mid-to-late 80s.   Picked it up a couple years ago for $650.

Just called Colt, they said it was made in 1990.

So the F was just a prefix and the L was for light weight. So what would a Blued 1990 Commander value be about @ 98%???
