I have a Brazos Lightning Rod on the front of my Springfield.
I have managed to lose the fiber optic rod.... not an unusual occurrence, but I have either used all of the replacements or lost the remaining ones... (I only remember replacing it twice in almost a decade, but can't recall how many replacements came with it to start with.) ANYWAY... Checking around, it is a 0.60 dia rod and Brownell's carries a 4-pack. $27.95 plus shipping.
I didn't pay that much for the site when I installed it 9 years ago and I'll be damned if I am paying that for replacement plastic inserts.
Dawson has them @ $6 each, but you get a $5 small order fee if you are under $20. By the time I hit the minimum, I could have ordered them from Brownell's. Archery guys like fibre optic, but the sizes are wrong for this.... Anyone know of a cheaper source for these rods? Should I just bend over and get them from Brownell's? I have considered changing the front sight all together, but finding a front-sight-ONLY (I love my millet rear sight) with a Kimber/Novak dovetail in a design I like is akin to searching for hen's teeth. Not to mention I have no idea how tall this Lightning Rod is (They have several and my memory sucks) so it makes shopping for a comparable sight difficult. So.... what say you? |

Have you ever heard the saying "Google is your friend "?
I googled the subject line of your post, and this is the first site that came up. http://www.fiberopticproducts.com/Archery.htm They have some at .59" dia., in six colors, @ $5.35/ meter Hope this helps. |
