I have a Dan Wesson Pointman 9 (stainless steel, don't believe there was another option with this handgun but....) When it shoots, it is incredible: accurate and a joy to shoot.

However, I am having problems with FTE and the slide moving visibly slow. It looks like this is a problem that can happen with stainless steel semi automatics?

It will be going back to CZ shortly but I would like to understand what is happening with the weapon.

Sounds like possibly your recoil spring is too heavy or the slide to frame fitting is tight. That is a good thing for accuracy, but you may have a FTE like you are talking about.
You may want to oil the slide to frame contact area  a little more. As you shoot it it should become a little looser or possibly try a few different weight recoil springs until you find what works for you.

Just my .02 and I'm sure others can help you more

Grease is much too heavy if the slide fit is tight.  I had this problem with my Sig GSR.  Light, teflon based oil is the best bet on a tight slide.

Clean the slide well and inspect the contact surfaces under magnification for galling.

If the gun is clean, lubed and doing this then your slide is binding. Do not shoot it send it in.

If the gun if filthy and dry then you need to clean and lube it.

Less than 50 rounds through it since I took it apart, cleaned and lubed it, with no improvement to the existing FTE/slow slide problem. Waiting for CZ to call me back so I can send it in for warranty work.

Thanks gentlemen! I appreciate the information.

I keep my stainless Springfield Mil-Spec lubed with liberal amounts of oil on all the parts that need oil, then extra on the rails, barrel bushing, and exposed parts of the barrel. Generous amounts. Gotta keep stainless lubed.
