Ok, so I recently got a new Springfield that has been customized to hopefully start some competitive shooting with. One thing I still need to get done is change out the magazine release. My small hands can't seem to release the mag without changing the grip everytime.  I see many different options, Ed Brown, Wilson, etc. Do any of you guys have any recommendations and personal experiences with any? Oh, I tried using the search function but I don't think it likes me... ever.

I prefer the Brown Tactical mag release.   It's just long enough for me to hit it without changing my grip, yet not long enough to bump against holsters and such.

For my part, I've been using the 10-8 magazine catch, and it works fine for me. No complaints about function, nada. Just works. Does seem to hold mags a hair higher than the stock Springfield factory part did though.

Wilson has a product similar to the Ed Brown part shown above. Any of the semi extended mag releases are well suited to having a pair of grips with a cut out so the release is more easily accesible.
