If the price is right, jump on it. They are great guns.

I just picked one up a few weeks ago and love it so far. I paid $750 out the door for mine in a local shop. Very accurate and no issues after maybe 500 or so rounds of diff stuff. I have seen a few comments about barrel/bushing/slide fit, so check that out on the one you want to pick up if you can. The 2 mags that came with mine have worked 100% so far. Very happy with it.

Here is a pic of mine with my XD45c for company.

I have had several 1911's over the years, and I still love my Springfield over the rest. I took mine and dropped it off at the factory, spoke with the custom shop, and they not only turned my loaded into a tack driver, but saved me money in the process. My least favorite is Kimber.... Just sayin, not hatin.

My wasn't horrible but I ended up trading it for an Armory Kote TRP. I like it much better.

I'm SH&T canning my Kimber after 4x returns to the factory.  They cant get to eat 100 rds without a problem.

How is the trigger on the loaded?  How is Springfields CS?

I SH&T canned both my Kimbers, they will never get another dime from me. I had a CDP II and A CDP Pro Carry with the 4" bull barrel. The CDP II was ok, but the Pro Carry was a POS. Their customer service is a joke at best.

The trigger on the loaded is good stock, but like anything it can be made to work better. Their Custom Shop Rocks! I told the guy what I wanted to do,  which would have cost me a few hundered more than what I paid. They actually talked me into spending less with the same performance guarunteed. I had them Armory Kote the slide and frame, installed a Nolan barrel, custom bushing, tune the trigger, and install a ambi safety. they charged me $450.00 and sent it back to me Fed Ex. I have never been happer with a manufacturer.

The Loaded is a good pistol but sometimes they can be a crap shoot.  I have seen some that are beautifully put together and I have seen some that look like monkeys assembled it.

My advice is find one you can put your hands on and try these things.

First test the trigger pull if it is heavy, gritty, or does not break decent find another.  (should break like breaking glass)
Next when the slide in battery position take your index and middle finger and push straight down on the top of the barrel chamber towards the magazine (magazine out)... (It should not move).  If it moves slightly that is ok but should not push down much at all if any.
Next feel the slide to frame fit if you feel a lot of up and down movement it is not fit tight (pulling on the slide upwards holding the frame) Also side to side.
Check the barrel/bushing fit also should be fairly snug.

One a Used pistol look for peening, cracking, or just anything that stands out.
My opinion if a brand new pistol can pass these test it is worth taking a look at.  Now if it is used and does not pass these test you got a pistol you can get a good deal on and have a project.

It would be coming new from the factory...So I would have the right of refusal once it came in.

I could use a break after my last 1911

These are my two Loaded's.

I bought the first one (actually on the bottom of the pic) new for $760+tax and had it for a couple months without much of an issue. The trigger was heavier than it should have been (6-7lbs maybe), so I swapped mainsprings to something closer to the mil-spec spring rate. Springfield puts a 28lb MS in there and I believe mil spec is only 23lb. It lightened the pull up a little, but not much. I started talking to Miller Custom about it and some more stuff that I'd like done to it (because if you look at a 1911 custom guys' website, you're gonna find SOMETHING you want done to your pistol ). I dropped it off at his shop in March last year. Should be done soon.

I bought the one on top about the same time I started talking to Bob Miller about the other Loaded because I didn't want to be without a 1911 (I got bitten by the bug hard). Unlike the other one, this was bought used and is about 10 years old. I haven't done anything to it except re-tension the extractor......a couple times. Springfield extractors aren't the greatest and if you tension them (bend them), they probably won't hold that tune for very long. This pistol is long overdue for another extractor, I just haven't gotten to it. Other than just a couple extractor related problems, it's been a trouble free 800rds with it.

That said, I wish I would have paid attention to what these fellas on here told me and bought a TRP from the get-go. It would have been much cheaper than customizing the one I have .

The Loaded is a great pistol though. Chances are, I'll probably end up buying another

Are you saying that the TRP has an overall better trigger and is more reliable?

I've owned both the loaded and a stainless TRP. I had no malfunctions with either using WWB and 47Ds. The TRP is more refined. It is a tighter fit and I love the aggressive front strap checkering.

I have one each, and the OP really can't lose either way.  The loaded is a good value and a great shooter.

Good luck OP...waiting for an AAR!

Typically, yes on both accounts. The TRP will be more accurate as well.

But, it involves spending $1300 instead of $750. That's a huge hunk of change for what might not be as large of an improvement as you might think.

I've handled plenty of Loaded's since I got my two and can say they are a well-built pistol as a whole. Check the trigger on the one you intend to buy, if you like it, buy it. If not, you could still buy it and send it to Springfield stating that the trigger pull is heavier than it should be.

Either way, you'll end up getting both eventually

Looks like the loaded for me.......

Hey if I dont love it I will get a trigger job and maybe a reliability package if necessary.....  I like a rough outer fininsh but I insist my gun runs like a german clock...(not GLOCK)
