Before I lay out the cash. Can anyone give me their openion on Springfileds loaded 5 inch (parkarized) 1911. Thanks.... |

I have had several 1911's over the years, and I still love my Springfield over the rest. I took mine and dropped it off at the factory, spoke with the custom shop, and they not only turned my loaded into a tack driver, but saved me money in the process. My least favorite is Kimber.... Just sayin, not hatin.

I'm SH&T canning my Kimber after 4x returns to the factory. They cant get to eat 100 rds without a problem. How is the trigger on the loaded? How is Springfields CS? I SH&T canned both my Kimbers, they will never get another dime from me. I had a CDP II and A CDP Pro Carry with the 4" bull barrel. The CDP II was ok, but the Pro Carry was a POS. Their customer service is a joke at best. The trigger on the loaded is good stock, but like anything it can be made to work better. Their Custom Shop Rocks! I told the guy what I wanted to do, which would have cost me a few hundered more than what I paid. They actually talked me into spending less with the same performance guarunteed. I had them Armory Kote the slide and frame, installed a Nolan barrel, custom bushing, tune the trigger, and install a ambi safety. they charged me $450.00 and sent it back to me Fed Ex. I have never been happer with a manufacturer. |

The Loaded is a good pistol but sometimes they can be a crap shoot. I have seen some that are beautifully put together and I have seen some that look like monkeys assembled it.
My advice is find one you can put your hands on and try these things. First test the trigger pull if it is heavy, gritty, or does not break decent find another. (should break like breaking glass) Next when the slide in battery position take your index and middle finger and push straight down on the top of the barrel chamber towards the magazine (magazine out)... (It should not move). If it moves slightly that is ok but should not push down much at all if any. Next feel the slide to frame fit if you feel a lot of up and down movement it is not fit tight (pulling on the slide upwards holding the frame) Also side to side. Check the barrel/bushing fit also should be fairly snug. One a Used pistol look for peening, cracking, or just anything that stands out. My opinion if a brand new pistol can pass these test it is worth taking a look at. Now if it is used and does not pass these test you got a pistol you can get a good deal on and have a project. |

Are you saying that the TRP has an overall better trigger and is more reliable? I've owned both the loaded and a stainless TRP. I had no malfunctions with either using WWB and 47Ds. The TRP is more refined. It is a tighter fit and I love the aggressive front strap checkering. |

The loaded is a good value and a great shooter. Good luck OP...waiting for an AAR! Ed |

Are you saying that the TRP has an overall better trigger and is more reliable? Typically, yes on both accounts. The TRP will be more accurate as well. But, it involves spending $1300 instead of $750. That's a huge hunk of change for what might not be as large of an improvement as you might think. I've handled plenty of Loaded's since I got my two and can say they are a well-built pistol as a whole. Check the trigger on the one you intend to buy, if you like it, buy it. If not, you could still buy it and send it to Springfield stating that the trigger pull is heavier than it should be. Either way, you'll end up getting both eventually ![]() Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

). I dropped it off at his shop in March last year. Should be done soon.
