I have acquired a Kimber Pro Carry II.  The problem with the gun is it constantly fails to feed the first round from the magazine.  The first magazine or two, it will feed no problems. But once a few mags have been put through the gun, it consistently fails to load the first round. The round gets about ½ way in the chamber, but the slide has stopped moving and it “jams”. Sometimes a slight push will bring the gun into battery, other times it has to be cleared and loaded again.
Magazines are Wilson Combat 47D’s. I have tried Chip McCormick power mags, Wilson ETM’s, stock GI mags, and the stock Kimber mag. No difference, they all do it, so I believe this issue is not magazine related. I have also used different ammunition. Various brands of FMJ and JHP, and there is no difference in ammunition; it still does it.

The barrel throat and chamber have been polished with Flitz. This did not cure the problem. I have done nothing to the feed ramp, but the ramp is smooth and I have no reason to believe it’s the feed ramp, as the round has problems once it clears the ramp.
I changed the stock recoil spring to a Wolff extra power spring, and it still does it. I have since switched back to a regular recoil spring.

That is about it as far as information goes. I have read that it may be extractor related. I did try a difference extractor, and the problem got way worse. I do not know if the extractor is any good or not, but I suspect it’s not a good extractor since the issue worsened.

Now, another issue that may or may not be related. The brass ejects erratically. Sometimes it ejects out to the 3 o'clock area, sometimes it comes back and hits me in the forehead, and other times it ejects over my left shoulder (right hand shooter). Is this extractor or ejector related? And lastly, the barrel itself has a ton of carbon buildup in some of the grooves. Is there a good way to go about getting rid of that build up?

I plan to break the gun down shortly, and take pictures of the various internal pieces. Based on the information I have provided, what is the next course of action to take? Is there anything in particular that you’d like to see photos of?
Thanks in advance, and I would welcome any input to get this problem solved. I have also cross posted this on multiple forums to get the most exposure.

Thanks again.

Sounds like your ejector is not tensioned right and probably not formed right.
Check this out.
This like will show you how the extractor should be formed, and setup.

Tension has been checked, adjusted, checked again, and re-checked. Tension appears to be where it should be.

Can you feel any ledges/corners in the barrel?

When it jams it is jamming in a 3 point jam?

Check see if their is a bur you might be missing, pull the extractor make sure it is formed correctly maybe the radius is not correct.

Can you get pictures of the barrel/chamber, picture of the jam, are you possibly riding the slide forward????

I am using a combination of the slide release lever, and the slingshot method. I am not riding the slide. I made a conscious effort not to.

The first mag or two, no issues. Then the issues begin.

I looked at that site you showed me, and found an area on the "tuned" extractor that was not the same as mine. So, I radius cut the area on the extractor to make it match the picture on the website. I then polished the extractor. I am headed out in a few to run some more rounds through the gun to see if it will fix it or not.

If it doesn't, I intend to pull the gun apart and begin to take pictures of everything and post them, in hopes that this issue can be fixed.

This is the exact "jam" that is happening to me (pulled the picture from the web). I would like to note that the gun never does this while firing, only while feeding the first round off a new magazine.
