Gun: Para P16 LImited .40 S&W
When I first purchased the gun, it would not feed worth a crud. At minimum, 50%+ of the rounds in the magazine would nose into the ramp. Sent it in to Para and got it back a little better. Tried loading the ammo longer (up to near max col) as well as tried different bullets (FP as well as more rounded). No luck......... Replaced the factory magazine springs with Wolff +10% springs. Got much better results - regardless of bullet or length - all rounds would feed except for the very last one. When the magazine is loaded up, the rounds sit at a much more pronounce angle, except for the last round, it sits much flatter and noses into the ramp as before. Suggestions? Thanks................... |

Double Stack Para's are trouble. When they start their shit new from the box it's best just to start at A and work your way to Z until your pistol is completely tuned. Thats what I did. Here's a link.

Try dropping your recoil spring weight down by two pounds. Too much recoil spring caused my Para to nose dive the last round. Also check your extractor tension. The mag spring might not have enough uumph to get your last round under extractor. A lot of guys give up ad sleeve a barstock extractor and throw Para's out the door. I'm still running stock extractor. Also your magazines feed lips (inside where round passes through) might be a little rough. Your Google snafu needs to be strong. Google Para last round nose down. I'm also suspect of your feed ramp angle... Para's just aren't tuned from the factory for shit. As for Para's followers.. those never were my problem. It was everything else. Also Para's mags and followers are not the same as STI. |
