I did a search and could not find a topic for the new Colt rail gun and was curious if anyone had one, or has shot one yet.  I was considering putting one on the short list, but have yet to lay hands on one and would like some feedback.  Seems like a decent deal for a stainless 1911 for around $1,000.

Any comments would be appreciated.

There was a thread a while back, the author didn't mention the gun in the title, that's probably why you didn't find it by search method.

The thread can be found HERE.  That's the only thead I've seen regarding them.

Seems a rare bird. I'm in the market for another railed 1911 but won't make a purchase until I get a thorough look at the Colt.

Ok just kidding but I believe the XSE line is railed.  They are nice I almost bought one about 2 months ago but the shop would not budge on the price that was way to high.

VERY sharp edges!  I cut my finger on one while looking at it at a gun show.

Appreciate the responses, but no one has actually shot one yet?  Kind of wanting to know about any positives or negatives before shelling out $1000.

Nope, sorry... a local shop got one in a while back, but the grip safety was so horribly fit that I passed on it. Haven't seen another since then. The rest was all in order, though. It did seem a little sharp, but not as bad as some I have handled.

Picked up one yesterday!  So far all I can say it that it's real pretty!  I will post after I get a chance to shoot it.  I was not able to find a holster to fit it well do to the rail.  This one is for the night stand so I dont reckon I need one that fits a light (TLR2) but I would like a holster for trips to the range w/o the light.

No cut fingers or anything due to sharp edges, I have read a few posts regarding that, but it has not been my experience.

I handled one at SHOT Show 2009.

Seemed decent, though it sure could have used a de-horning!

The Colt Rail Gun is part of Colt's XSE line. It is the only Colt that has an integral light rail.

I can never find them when I go looking for a Colt.  Plus I can never find a good condition Colt when I try to find a used one.  Last one I found the trigger had lots of play up and down, slide frame fit was HORRIBLE, plastic MSH, and the guy wanted a 1000 for the pistol.  When I called him out of the price to come down he kept saying that is a Colt that is a Colt.

My s70 reissue was really sharp but it took my smith only 20 minutes to dehorn when it was in for a trigger job and msh swap.
