sorry no links but was in my local gander moutain and seen it. I do know it is made in the philippines and had some nice features for a starter 1911 and the price was 579.

Could it have possibly been a Citadel? They're made in the Philippines.

And $579 is steep for a Citadel when other places like Budsgunshop.com is selling them for $482 shipped (full size or compact).

Hope this helps.

My EDC is a Citadel officers model.  It has been absolutely flawless through the course of nearly 1000 rounds.  The factory mags aren't the best, but still function.  Mine now uses Wilson Combat mags and I feel 100% confident carrying it.  Buds has a good deal going on them.  I bought mine locally, unfired for $430 and would've bought a full size as well if the dealer had one.  Armscor makes a quality product, and their customer service is the best in the 1911 business...I said it; the best.  Buy one with confidence.
