Short answer - Yes

Longer answer - like any production 1911 they can have issues, but for the most part user reviews have been very positive.  My personal S&W 1911 is one of the early Billboard all stainless model with the Briley barrel and lots of other good parts ... and it's ran 100% for me using 47D mags for right around 1000 rounds.  Hilton Yam had something to say about checking to make sure the external extractor is toleranced correctly, maybe somebody with that info could post it up.

above is correct I have one that has been very reliable and I've not been disappointed at all. I have the SC framed commander and it's insanely light so a lil more reciol but other than that it is fine

I bought one when they first came out. Nothing but problems from triggers being sloppy , to trigger not going bang when pulled- this was on my gun mind you. Sent back 5 times and each time a new gun came back or a new slide "fitted".  Finally just asked for a refund after 8 months of S&W not being able to fix the issues. Also had canted hammer, slide galling, rattling slide,a loose sight, sticky mag release button that would sometimes drop the mag and sometimes not. The only good thing was the free shipping back to S&W. But the hassle of purchasing a gun that didnt work was a real bother. I still have the blue cards saved- which are gun registration cards with the Las Vegas Metro Police Dept. It was a pain in the butt. Hopefully they are better now. Let us know if you do decide to buy. I purchased a Colt XSE instead and its been trouble free. Also complimented it with a Springfield Armory PC9111 FBI HRT model 1911.
