anybody use the "add on" wilson combat checkered front grip strap, the kind that slips over your smooth grip in front and slides under the grip panels?

No its not. If I had to buy another one I wouldnt. I picked up a Colt awhile back that the owner had one on it. Grip tape while I saved for a checkering job for me. 1911smith is right, its like a cheese grater, you can actually see holes through the very tips of the points. |
