Never fails, learn something new every day.  I'm watching the PGA tournament & practicing the draw with my 5" 1911.  I'm also using a new, high-ride. leather OWB holster that has not been broken in yet.  This is altogether a different animal.  This may be second nature to you, but I've been a compact dao man all my life.  C'mon I need some advice.

The draw is always the same no matter the size of the pistol.

Except that you have to pull it up further to clear the longer barrel from the holster.

Oh yeah-I found that out.  The high ride holster is a mixed blessing with a 5" 1911.
