You are not going to believe this 1911, it is beyond words.
First off a couple of disclaimers... I do not wish to violate the COC, I do not believe this does. Be warned up front, it contains nudity (engraving) and graphic at that. | Clearly the owner had a problem with overcompensation. I wonder what General Patton would have said about it knowing how he felt about pearl grips being on a 45 let alone the engraving, I bet he would have slaped the owner of it. I just hope it wasn't a USGI 1911. I'm from Houston and am ashamed that came from my city. |

That pistol is referenced in "Homicidal Humor" which was written by a retired Houston PD Homicide Detective. The pistol was at the Saxet show when I and a friend purchased the book. Very interesting book, and a very interesting man to speak with. He knew my friends uncle from HPD, but I would imagine he is a rather gregarious sort with fellow shooters regardless.
The owner of that particular 1911 was indeed a contract killer in Houston. Probably killed about 12 folks with it. His smith would occasionally have to rebuild it, regardless of condition, and the owner took all the parts with him. Oh and the gentleman in question did pimp in Houston as well. |
