Buddy called me today and told me my local shop had a very lightly used Baer Custom Carry.  I ended up trading my Colt Commander and a Glock 22 for it.  The Colt was nice, but had some fitting issues that always bugged me.   And I had been trying to trade the Glock for something for a few months, as I decided to stick with only 9mm Glocks.  All in all I think I did pretty good.   Baer reportedly has exactly 110rds through it, and looks about perfect.

Good looking Baer. Congrats!

Don't forget the range report when you shoot it. It's mandatory here.

Nice score !     (the Colt looks good too –– but if it had "issues" - maybe someone else can fix it)

Thanks for the compliments.  I kinda hated to get rid of the Colt because I really like the Commander size, but this was too good to pass up.  I got the Colt for a very good price when I bought, so I did real well on the trade in value.  I bought the Colt before I knew much about 1911's.  Unfortunately mine must have been built on a Friday.  The grip safety was very loose and poorly fitted.  It rattled like a kids toy. (You can see the gap in the pic).   Plus the trigger was a bit loose(up and down play), and the frame overhung the back of the slide.  I also didn't like the polymer MSH and trigger.  Lastly, the Colt didn't have night sites, and I believe it used MIM parts.   To fix all those issues and have the front strap checkered would have cost me quite a bit.   Maybe one day I'll pick up a DW CBOB to fill my Commander void.
