Happened by the nearest gun shop at lunch just to eye ball and discovered a Springfield GI Champion in the case.
This is not the GI Lightweight Champion that I have on order but close enough. I handled it a bit and man did that thing fit nicely in my hand. Reminds me of why I chose that model. Can't wait for mine to come in. The sights were pretty poor compared to my issued heat and the trigger was stiff/heavy but that can be corrected easily. I handled a bunch of 1911s at the NRA convention in STL a couple of years ago and was set on the GI Lightweight Champion. After checking this one out today....I'm reminded of why I opted for that pistol. Can't wait.
