| I am debating between these two firearms as my new carry piece. One of them will be replacing my completely stainless Springfield v10 ultra compact. I found the stainless ultra compact to be very heavy, that is why I want an alloy frame gun. Also I am looking to buy one of these in 9mm. I know purest will say that is blasphemy, but I want higher capacity in my carry piece. The Springfield is 9+1, and that is acceptable to me. What does the hive say? |

I have a CDP bought about 9 years ago. It's a great gun. It has what I want for a 1911 carry gun. Checkered front strap, dehorned, and night sights. Don't know about the newer ones, but the one I have is excellent. I would go with 45 ACP rather than 9mm. The single stack carrying capacity is only one round less for the 45 ACP using an 8 round mag giving 8+1.
