My friend has a Taurus 1911. It spits back unburned powder onto my arms while shooting. The ammo is Monarch green box (brass). Is this common to all 1911's? Taurus? Ammo?

It's a semi-annoying issue.

Trying new ammo is a bit impossible right now.

Maybe for a Taurus, but I've never had it happen with any 1911 I've ever shot.

For Monarch, yes.  It sucks, or are you trying to blame the Taurus.

Change your ammo problem should reduce.

Sounds like an ammo problem, powder burn rate is probably a bit too slow.
