Do you want a pile at a decent price, or a few less that will work all the time?  Brownells has good prices if you get the discount

I love the 8 round Tripp Research Cobra mags.  They cost a few bucks more, but have been 100% for me.  You can get them directly from Tripp http://www.trippresearch.com/

If I was you, I'd buy 3 of them and test in your gun.  If they work for you, then get some more.

for 7 rounders ... just about any are good - colt factory ect..

for 8 rounds. - trully the only one reliable are those with an extented tube. ie ed brown 8 pack, tripp mags, and checkmate, and beleive the cmc mags are extented as well.

personally i just bought 40 8 rounders from checkmate directly.

they are an oem supplier of magazines for colt, springer and a few other.

$24.5 a magzine with hybtid followrs and feed lips with remoable basepad.

Don't buy too many unless you know they work for you.  I've got 12 from SA that work good for three of my 1911's made by Metalform.  I also have 15 Kimpro tac-mags.  The Kimpro's have been used in competition and when the springs get weak they were replaced by Tripp springs and followers.  For about $17 each  these mags work for me.  The Kimpro can be found at The Armory and the Metalform from Springfield Arms (use the Loaded coupon for $10 each).

+1 - my Colt XSE has no issues with Wilson 47Ds and factory Colts, but my buddy's kimber pukes on the 47Ds, is fine with stock Colt and Kimber and works with the Wilson ETMs.  another friend's kimber chokes on the stock Kimber mag, but works fine with the Wilson ETMs

For two or three more weeks, Metalform has their blue 7 rounders on sale 1/2 price about.  See the post on this page for the links.  Great deal on high quality mags (they are a Colt OEM maker, not a fly-by night outfit or Asian fakes).
