This is just my OP so take it how you may. I would never trade a Sig 1911 for a Kimber. I personally have had bad experiences with Kimber. I have shot a Sig 1911 once and loved it. I would love to own a Sig 45 some day to go along side my Colt Combat Comander 1911.

I've had a Sig 1911, great gun - Very sturdy and i didn't have any problems with it. Most people say that the external extractor has problems, but i didn't notice any.Functioned PERFECTLY!

Have owned multiple Kimber 1911s.  Currently own none.
Have owned 1 Sig GSR 1911.  Still have it.

'Nuff said.

I own a Sig GSR and would not trade it for anything. Very good quality, accurate, and no plastic or mim parts. It's ran perfectly. If you want the Kimber, get the Kimber. Then you will have the Sig and the Kimber, but I think you would regret getting rid of the Sig.

i think that is what im going to do. but instead of the kimber i was thinking springfield TRP. just a little conserned that the frame is made in south america. trying to stay american made 100 %. espec these days.

I am a hardcore Glock user, but I wanted to break into the 1911 scene.  About 2 months ago I bought a RIA Officer, and 2 weeks ago, got a Sig GSR Platinum Carry Elite.  I got to tell ya, I found my new favorite weapon.  I'll hold onto my Glock 21SF for home defense for the ease of use for the wifey, not to mention the ammo capacity, but my new carry weapon is the Sig!

when i first bought the sig a little over three years ago, i was new to the 1911 scene. i did alot of research and the only real negative thing people said about the sig was the looks. internel parts were suposed to be very good(no mim) and the sig was notably very acurate as 1911's go. its fit and finish i thought were much better than the s&w i held as well as a kimber warior. thats is why i chose it that day. only had one problem with it and that was ammo related. but now i just want something different but just as good in the same price range.

The TRP is a very nice gun, but don't trade your Sig for it...

I got rid of my Kimber TLE II in a heartbeat after 3 trips back to Kimber.  I still have my Colt and Springer along with my Sig.  I will be adding another SIG, if that tells you how much I really like them.

The GSR is 100% American made.  How much do you want for it and where are you?
