I just got a PT1911.  Love the gun, it shoots great and looks great.  I got the blued finish, but didn't love it, so I took it to be refinished in a high polish blue.  It looks great now, but I noticed some green colored build up in the grooves where the barrel locks in and in the barrel bushing groove also.

Is the green just from the bluing collecting there?  I know it can't be corrosion or it would be rust colored.  What else could this be from?

Any one else ever noticed this?

no pics.  I don't know that it would show up that good on a picture.  It is not noticable until I shine a flashlight on it.  It is in the slide not the barrel, so I don't know how copper could have got down in there.

I just had the slide blued no more that a week ago.  I shot it a few days ago and cleaned it thouroughly.  I just took it apart today to inspect that there was no rust and notice the green looking build up.  I thought that maybe the blue built up in the grooves heavily and could have turned green.

it would seem odd that copper got into those places, but while it was being refinished there could have been residue that got into those spots.

what have you used to take it off?
