I just got a PT1911. Love the gun, it shoots great and looks great. I got the blued finish, but didn't love it, so I took it to be refinished in a high polish blue. It looks great now, but I noticed some green colored build up in the grooves where the barrel locks in and in the barrel bushing groove also.
Is the green just from the bluing collecting there? I know it can't be corrosion or it would be rust colored. What else could this be from? Any one else ever noticed this? |

no pics. I don't know that it would show up that good on a picture. It is not noticable until I shine a flashlight on it. It is in the slide not the barrel, so I don't know how copper could have got down in there.
I just had the slide blued no more that a week ago. I shot it a few days ago and cleaned it thouroughly. I just took it apart today to inspect that there was no rust and notice the green looking build up. I thought that maybe the blue built up in the grooves heavily and could have turned green. |
