[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Magazine Question

I recently picked up a used colt 1991a1. My first.

It came with three old magazines, 10+ years old. None of them drop free when I hit the mag release, but my new mag, Kimber manufacture drops without issue. Are these three old magazines defective?

they should drop free, especially if they are OEM. What brand are they - if colt, do they have the pony on the bottom toe and what letter codes on the rear of the baseplate?

Do your self a favor. You now have the ultimate handgun buy some Wilson mags and be done with it.

The mags may have become bulged from being ejected onto hard surfaces.

If you have a vise with smooth jaws (or smooth inserts) you can try gently squeezing them and see if they will then drop free.
