Looking at this setup:
Wilson Combat Shok Buffer System Anyone running this setup? Likes or dislikes. |

I am NOt a fan becuase they degrade and fall apart after so many rounds and can jam your gun up, also sometimes in some guns it will not let the slide hold open on the last round...
now if you ONYL use your gun for compitition, then maybe, but as for a carry gun or defence or bedside gun NO WAY, IMHO at least... |

Maybe tweaking the recoil spring would solve that issue, but I didn't think they made that much of a difference anyway. |

If JMB had thought the 1911 needed it he'd have put one in. http://media.ar15.com/media/viewFile.html?i=9458 |

Some people hate them.
I have a Wilson Combat CQB that came with one from the factory. I have not had any problems with the gun in over 5,000 rounds. I also change it out about every 800 to 1,000 rounds. They are cheap, and I don't want it breaking, or wearing out in the gun. Wilson Combat makes an excellent 1911, and inclueds/uses the shok buffers in them. I am sure that there must be a reason that Wilson Combat uses them, and they cannot be junk, like everyone has said. Wilson Combat is a top tier 1911 builder, and feels a need for them, and is able to get the guns to run great with them installed. |
