| Does Double Star make a 1911? |
|
Quoted:
They started "tinkering" with 1911s last summer (I think). They are now making limited numbers and the only ones I have seen are full size with rail. I have seen 4 and they were between $1000 and $1200. They also sell stripped frames and complete slides. Really I'm pretty sure they have been making frames for quite a while now. You can also get a GI, if you can find one.

I bought a Doublestar frame about 6 years ago. It is investment cast, and I understand the new ones are forged.
I like mine, it built up into quite a nice pistol. All the holes were drilled in the right places. I will check out their new frames first chance I get. |

GI model Railed model Stripped frame Well the 2008 catalog in my basement says they expect to start producing complete 1911s in the fall of 08. I was refering to the complete versions. I have no idea how long they have sold frames or slides. |
