My new used stainless is too shiny.
I want to bead blast the rascal.
How do I pick the re finisher?

Biacil sand is very fine and makes for a nice even dulled down sparkle finish. I do motorcyle parts, you can get good results from a small bucket blaster but you have to have a compressor with the right output.

I'm not clear, are you looking to do this yourself or looking to have someone do it for you?

I would like to do it myself but am concerned I could mess it up.
Taking it apart would be the difficult part IMO.
Would not want to screw up the screws.

Well you're correct assembly and disassembly is an opportunity to mess something up, depending on whats involved. But depending on the job, you can just mask anything you don't want blasted with layers of duct tape. You also have to plug your barrel if you were blasting near the end rifling so you didn't accy bead blast it.  I've got spectial rubber plugs for that.

Not too hard of a deal, but you would have to be careful. And if you didn't disassemble down to the part you wanted blasted, you would have to blow everything out with air and clean the crap out of it. That fine sand gets in everything.

The trick to getting an even finish is to blast the entire surface to get it pebbled then lower the air pressure and quickly feather over everything for a smoothly finished piece.

An alternative if your just needing to dull a barrel end and you don't have any recesses is to tape up adjacent surfaces and pat the surface with 1000 grit or finer until you get a uniform pebble. But that takes patience.
