found a 1911 dated 1922 US property stamped unmolested colt , all original, but only 5-10% blueing left, no pittng sharp roll marks all numbers match w/ one original mag, guy wants 1500.00 for her. what you thnk |

1922? 1911 procurement ended in 1918 (for Colt at least); there was a small batch of transition pieces in 1924, and again in 1937. What's the serial number of the piece? Should be 6 digit..? Only need the first 3 or so... 220 first 3 220 indicates manufacture in 1918, not 1922... Depending on condition and originality, it could be worth a bit (rare shipment, etc) or just as much as a shooter ($500, maybe?) It's all in the details... Edited to add - for that price, the gun better have one hell of a provenance, because with only %5 or %10 of it's blueing left, there's no way it's worth more than 800 without some kind of serious credentials, and even that's pushing it.. |
