After shooting 1911's for thirty plus years, I made the switch to 9mm on that platform about 4 years ago........I have three now...........cheap to shoot.............low recoil...........and fun!!!!!!!!!!! I sure agree with you on that! I have a 5906 S&W & Sig 226 in 9 But I don't enjoy shooting them. I classify them as tools, they do the job & do it well but they are NO fun. From the first shot yesterday w/1911 Fun had been restored in shooting a 9 Something else Rob Leatham carries a 9 as his CC weapon. Which suprised me but the way he shoots he could kill you with a BB Gun...lol But he also said he enjoy's the tournaments for shooting the 9 more cause his followup is so easy due to the low recoil. Which is very low on a regular 9 but I'm sure you know add that low recoil to a 1911 platform & you got a real tackdriver. If anyone has been thinking of buying a 1911 in a smaller caliber DO IT! You will not regret it. What's funny I found it hard to buy the 9 because they also had a SA 1911 Loaded Stainless/black with the extended magwel in .45 I guess it was my male DNA wanting the Macho 45 Right up tp the part where the salesman is writing the serial # on the paperwork, I was thinking? Ohh shit..i want the .45..ahh But I hanged tough & got the 9 & once I shoot it, I knew I made the right decision:) Oh..And as usual you know how your always wanting another? Well I do Got to get one in a 40 NOW. If fact I might get another just like this one in 40. Because for the money? This one is a real deal. It was $803.43 OTD MSRP $1048.96 http://www.galleryofguns.com/genie/default.aspx?item=PI9134LP |

If you want something fun to shoot, you should try one of these: http://www.hunt101.com/data/500/medium/0271.JPG 1911 in .22. I built this one last year. What a fun pistol to shoot. I use it in my club's steel matches. It and my 9mm are my favorite pistols to shoot. Dam I bet that shoots good, whats the recoil like? probably almost non exsistent? I love the two tone, black & gray look real nice together. |

As far as reliability, it has functioned 100% on CCI MiniMags and about 99% or better on the Federal Bulk Packs from WalMart (occasional FTE). |
