I've got a SA Loaded .45ACP &
Kimber SIS CUSTOM RL .45ACP
been wanting to get a 1911 in a smaller
caliber in either 9 or 40 because I got a
10,000 rds of each. I sold my Sign Company
a little over 5 years ago. So I decided while
I had the money I would stock up on Ammo.

I figured in the future my funds would be lessened
& the Ammo would be there no matter what.
Glad I did because..Yea my funds are less these days.

But back the pistol, I had been wanting to get another
1911 so today I stoped by my firearms store & what
lay there shinning under the glass? Yep SA 1911 A1
in 9mm. Needless to say I grabed it & ran like I
stole it, went straight to test it out.

Happy to say it's functioned flawlessly, slide & all is
very tight, feels great. Accuracy as good as anyone
could ask for. Ran about 60rds. through it.
No jams, No misfeeds nothing but exacetly what
it was designed to do! I'll probably unload it
& sleep with it..:) So anyone thinking about
a 9? This is a good one. Now all I need is a 40 NEXT.

PS: The wood grips are the ones that come with it.
I just happen to have an extended mag well & grips waiting:)

After shooting 1911's for thirty plus years, I made the switch to 9mm on that platform about 4 years ago........I have three now...........cheap to shoot.............low recoil...........and fun!!!!!!!!!!!

I sure agree with you on that!
I have a 5906 S&W & Sig 226 in 9
But I don't enjoy shooting them.
I classify them as tools, they do the
job & do it well but they are NO fun.

From the first shot yesterday w/1911
Fun had been restored in shooting a 9
Something else Rob Leatham carries
a 9 as his CC weapon. Which suprised me
but the way he shoots he could kill you
with a BB Gun...lol But he also said he
enjoy's the tournaments for shooting
the 9 more cause his followup is so
easy due to the low recoil.

Which is very low on a regular 9 but
I'm sure you know add that low recoil
to a 1911 platform & you got a
real tackdriver.

If anyone has been thinking of buying
a 1911 in a smaller caliber DO IT!
You will not regret it.

What's funny I found it hard to buy the 9
because they also had a SA 1911 Loaded Stainless/black
with the extended magwel in .45
I guess it was my male DNA wanting the Macho 45
Right up tp the part where the salesman is writing
the serial # on the paperwork, I was thinking? Ohh
shit..i want the .45..ahh But I hanged tough & got
the 9 & once I shoot it, I knew I made the right decision:)

Oh..And as usual you know how your always wanting
another? Well I do Got to get one in a 40 NOW.
If fact I might get another just like this one in 40.
Because for the money? This one is a real deal.

It was $803.43 OTD
MSRP $1048.96

If you want something fun to shoot, you should try one of these:

1911 in .22. I built this one last year. What a fun pistol to shoot. I use it in my club's steel matches. It and my 9mm are my favorite pistols to shoot.

Dam I bet that shoots good, whats the recoil
like? probably almost non exsistent?
I love the two tone, black & gray look
real nice together.

Is it reliable enough for the steel matches?

Thanks. Recoil is non-existent. As far as reliability, it has functioned 100% on CCI MiniMags and about 99% or better on the Federal Bulk Packs from WalMart (occasional FTE).
