Just picked up my 1st 1911 a few weeks back. It is a lightly used Wilson CQB. I am taking a pistol class and a carbine class in the next 3-4 months and need reccomendations on a good holster for these types of classes using the CQB. Looking at a Safariland 6004 but have no clue.....

Not worried about wear or anything, i plan on using this thing and getting some good milage from it

Any assistance would be appriciated..

Train as you'll fight. If you're going to carry your heater in a thigh holster, then the 6004 is probably the best of that variety.

If you're going to be carrying concealed though, you might want to consider a hip holster, either IWB or OWB, but whatever you're likely to have on you when TSHTF. Wouldn't it be nice to have a few hundred iterations of drawing from the holster you're wearing when you have to do it with your life on the line?

Are you looking for a duty type holster, a OWB concealed carry/range holster ................... ?
For a duty style holster the Safariland 6280 is hard to beat
For a Drop leg .... Safariland 6004/6005
If your looking for a OWB CCW/Range holster then look at an Advenger type holster in leather or something like the Bladetech Sting Ray  in Kydex

Bladetech DOH makes a great range/gamer holster. For some games you will need a stingray back plate as 2 sports look down on the doh for use in a single stack unless your female.

Thank for the tips. Honestly I think that I need to get a good OWB holster for training and range time an I like to carry IWB when concealed.
