If I were to buy a Springfield TRP, can I just drop in a GI recoil setup?  Does it need any fitting and will it have a negative effect on reliability.  Thanks.

No fitting required. You may need a GI spring plug if you currently have the FLGR in the TRP. As far as affecting operation, as long as the recoil spring is the same or the new spring is the same weight rating +/- 1-2lbs, you should be good to go.

Might I ask why you wish to swap to the GI system?

Easier to take apart, what is the spring weight on something like that?

For factory ammo 16lbs.  Some run more some run less.

My reloads are about 750  fps for a 230fmj. I run a 14#.

Military match ammo is 820+\- 10%, so I'm interested in what kind of accuracy you're getting and what's your powder and charge for this load?
